Real Madrid’s and Barcelona’s major league soccer player sculpture prototypes.  Zidane portrayed on video for TV marketing and store promotions.

The undertaking consisted of a sculptured figurine and a photographic session in which the soccer players posed exclusively for this artistic task in painting their complexions, each soccer player’s distinct skin tonalities, ranging from white to mulatto to dark, were painted with fine precision.  “My point of reference was the Napolitano Nativity Scene figurines, with all of their rich gradations on expressive faces, their poignant colors, and the shine in their eyes and on their hair.”

Unfortunately, the sculptures due to industrialized mass production, the nuances of each soccer player’s unique skin pigmentation as well as the subtleties of each prototype (have been) (were) lost.  The tones (were) (having  been) limited to a select two.  One uniform tone was for the pale skinned soccer players, the other uniform tone was for the mulatto-skinned and the dark-skinned soccer players.
